Why we exist
A lot of useful data is technically public — buried in government portals, registry databases, open data exports, and published reports. But finding it, cleaning it, combining it into something usable, and delivering it in a format you can actually work with takes time and skill most organizations don't have in-house.
MyDataOnDemand exists for organizations and researchers that need structured, specific data — but don't want the overhead of a full data team, and don't want to compromise their privacy to get it. We handle the research, collection, cleaning, and delivery. You get a dataset built to your specification from lawful, public sources.
What we do
We build custom datasets on request. Each project starts with your description of what you need: the data type, the geographic scope, the fields you care about, the format you'll use. We review the request, research available sources, assess whether the dataset is buildable, and send you a written proposal with scope, methodology, and pricing.
Sources include open data portals, federal and provincial government registries, municipal databases, licensing bodies, statistical agencies, published regulatory filings, and other lawful public records. We do not collect personal information, and we do not scrape private or access-controlled systems.
Once approved, we collect the data, clean and normalize it, validate it for consistency, and deliver it in the format you requested — along with a data dictionary, source list, and quality notes documenting any limitations or known gaps.
How we work
There are no automated systems, no subscriptions, and no black-box pipelines. Each dataset request is reviewed by a human, scoped individually, and built on a project basis. We communicate honestly about what is and is not buildable within your scope. If a dataset cannot be built as requested — because the sources don't exist, the data is too incomplete, or collection would not be lawful or practical — we tell you that upfront, before any work begins.
Pricing is per project. We do not charge for submitting a request or receiving a proposal. Work begins only after you review and approve the written proposal.

MyDataOnDemand is founder-operated and Canadian. We are part of the MyWaypoint ecosystem — a suite of data infrastructure tools and services built for organizations that need reliable, structured data without the overhead of enterprise data platforms.
This service is specifically for custom, one-off, or one-time dataset needs. If your need is for ongoing or recurring data, it may be better served through a managed dataset subscription.

MyCleanData is our related service for managed dataset subscriptions — recurring deliveries of maintained, updated datasets for organizations with ongoing data needs. If your custom dataset request evolves into a recurring need, we may suggest transitioning it to a managed subscription through MyCleanData.
MyWaypoint is the underlying data platform that powers our ingestion, normalization, enrichment, and delivery infrastructure.
Privacy and values
We do not use cookies. We do not load analytics scripts. We do not embed third-party tracking tools. This website is static HTML — there is no server-side application, no user session system, and no behavioural profiling of visitors.
When you submit a dataset request, we collect only the information you provide in that form, used only to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell or share your contact information. We do not add you to mailing lists without your consent.
Our data practices are guided by Canadian privacy principles. We do not rely on surveillance-economy platforms to operate this service.
